Houston Center for Infectious Diseases Pharmacy

Our offices offer an onsite pharmacy where your IV medications are prepared and delivered to you all in the same day. Our pharmacist review the dosage, drug interactions, and laboratory results to comply with drug use utilization review as required by state board of pharmacy. At HCID our pharmaceutical solution are prepared and compounded in a sterile technique in a controlled environment. The compounding room is design and maintained to prevent contamination. Compounding products must be capable of remaining sterile for longer periods of time, than is required in the inpation setting.

Our physicians carefully plan a course of therapy for each individual patient to prevent from getting an infection again. The infusion nurse will teach patients how to infuse their own medicine. Our office provides you with all the supplies you will need during the course of treatment. Patients receive the first dose in the office where the nurse can check for reactions and to make sure the patient fully understands how to infuse his/her own medicine.
